GS1 / QR decoder
A passport QR stores a structured URL, not product data. Paste it here and see what it carries: GTIN, serial, batch — and whether the GTIN check digit is even valid.
What it is and isn’t
Decoding a code is not a compliance verdict: this tool does not assess whether a product meets passport duties, or whether the target passport exists. Compliance is a matter for the registering entity and the registry.
1Paste QR content or an identifier string
Three input kinds: ① a GS1 Digital Link URL (what a passport QR stores) ② a GS1 element string (01)…(21)… ③ a bare GTIN/code. Parsed in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Why this matters
- Read a supplier’s sample code: paste the QR your EU contact sent and see whether it is a GTIN+serial structure or something else;
- Self-check code quality: a wrong GTIN check digit is the most common supplier-data slip — catch it before shipment;
- Understand Art 77(3): identifiers must follow the ISO/IEC 15459 series or equivalent — GS1 Digital Link is one compliant route, not a mandate; other recognised issuing agencies work too.
